During my time at Emory, I had the privilege of working on several student-produced web series that allowed me to explore various aspects of filmmaking. One standout project is "Reality Check," a comedy series that follows two young Black women as they navigate college life at a predominantly white institution. I joined the crew from the very beginning and took on multiple roles, including assistant director, camera operator, and director of photography, even directing several episodes across two seasons. Additionally, I contributed to another series called "Sonder," which features character-driven episodes that capture a week in the life of a friend group preparing for Friendsgiving. In this production, I served as the assistant director, further honing my skills in a collaborative and creative environment. These experiences have enriched my understanding of storytelling and the power of diverse perspectives in media.
